I got an email response from Melinda Kufeld on October 18. She said that at the next PTSA meeting, Mrs. Wittmer will give a college presentation. Student and parents who are not PTSA members are allowed to attend. They are still waiting on FUSD approval on special projects. They may need to submit these projects individually. Once they get approval, they will coordinate a make a difference day event. PTSA has made it a priority to ensure parents realize there will be no parent/teacher conference days this year and provide alternatives so they can stay abreast of their students progress. She also suggested featuring Jan’s Mock SAT exam along with Founders Day volunteer recognition.
I talked to Melinda Kufeld, PTSA president, on Sept 20. She said that PTSA is planning on installing lunchtime equipment (i.e. basketball courts, tetherball courts, and volleyball courts) soon. Also she told me that this year to increase student membership, student memebers get $6 in muffin money to be used during the brunch sales during finals and they get 50 % off the price of the mock SAT.
